Spank Dance classes

“To dance is to share – to share is to teach.” - Selayma
“Train the whole person, not just the dancer.”- Deborah Bull

Dancing is a dialogue

As a teacher of dance, I am committed to training the physical body by demonstrating movement techniques, and also by encouraging students to be engaged in multiple physical dialogues at once while unlocking the potential multifaceted strengths dance encompasses. In practice, a dialogue with the self is essential to a student’s growth. To me, a dialogue with the self means that I ask the students to take ownership of their physical abilities and limitations so they may understand that dancing is always in process. As a teacher, I encourage the students to embrace process as dialogue and this will provide clarity as they grow as artists.
